Flash Productions, LLC was originally created to showcase the unique photographic style of Jim "Flash" Miteff. FLASH had one passion in life; motorcycles. He rode them, built them, restored them, collected them, exhibited them and he photographed them. Jim did not take photographs quite like anyone else. Using a vintage Speed Graphic press camera he shot over 1200 photographs. This was not the way photography was being done in the 1960's. While Jim was shooting in black and white with this complex camera, other photographers were using the new 35 mm format and taking color photos. The result is a collection of photographs with amazing detail and character taken with a unique style that was all his own.
The 4x5 negatives that make up the collection of Jim's work had been stored away for over 40 years! Few people had seen these pictures until now. Jim's daughter, Beverly, decided to make these rare photographs available for the world to enjoy. Whether you have an appreciation for motorcycles, vintage photography or just for the cultural history of the 1960's itself, these photographs are a real treasure.
Bevery Roberts was born Beverly Virginia Miteff on August 3, 1959. The oldest of three daughters and the most like her father in personality and interests. By 1965, at 6 years old, Beverly was already helping her dad develop the photos that 40+ years later would become known as the Flash Collection.
Growing up around bikes and bikers was just the way it was for Beverly. It was not until many years later while compiling the Flash Collection for books and exhibits that the true appreciation for this American culture and the people within it really came to be.
After many years outside the motorcycle circle, building a career, Beverly has returned to her roots with a mission; to share the memories of a magical time in America with as many people as possible.
While not busy working on book projects for Flash Productions, Beverly donates much of her time to various organizations in preserving the culture and in the battle to protect the civil rights of bikers and motorcycle club members in the USA.
